864 — ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hatim cited it, saying: Ishaq ibn Ahmad al-Khazzaz informed us; Ishaq—that is, Ibn Sulayman al-Razi—narrated to us from al-Mughirah ibn Muslim, from Maymun Abu Hamzah, who said:

I was sitting with Abu Wa’il when a man known as Abu ‘Afif came in. Shiqiq ibn Salamah said to him, “Abu ‘Afif, would you not relate to us something from Mu‘adh ibn Jabal?”

He replied, “Certainly. I heard him say: ‘On the Day of Resurrection, the people will be held on a single open plain ⦗553⦘, then it will be proclaimed: “Where are those who were mindful of Allah?” They will rise in the shelter of the Most Merciful; Allah will not veil Himself from them, nor will He conceal Himself.’

I said, ‘Who are those who were mindful of Allah?’ He said, ‘They are people who guarded themselves against associating partners with Allah and worshipping idols, and who devoted their worship sincerely to Allah. They will then proceed to Paradise.’”
