Saʿid al-Thaqafi, who said: Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Dhuhli narrated to us; he said: Yaʿqub ibn Ibrahim ibn Saʿd narrated to us; he said: My father narrated to us, from Salih, from Ibn Shihab, who said: Umar ibn Thabit al-Ansari informed me that some of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, informed him that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to the people while warning them about the Dajjal: “You should know that none of you will see his Lord until he dies. Written between the Dajjal’s eyes is: ‘Disbeliever’; everyone who detests his deeds will read it.”

Thus, the Companions who narrated from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, reports concerning the vision of Allah total twenty-three individuals in this chapter: Ali, Abu Hurayrah, Abu Saʿid al-Khudri, Jarir, Abu Musa, Suhayb, Jabir, Ibn Abbas, Ibn Umar, Anas, Ammar ibn Yasir, Ubayy ibn Kaʿb, Ibn Masʿud, Zayd ibn Thabit, Hudhayfah, Ubadah, Abu Umamah, Adi ibn Hatim, Abu Razin al-Uqayli, Kaʿb ibn Ujrah, Fadalah ibn Ubayd, Buraydah, and a man from among the Companions of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
