847 — Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Imran informed us; Abdullah ibn Sulayman ibn al-Ash'ath informed us; he said: Umar ibn Uthman narrated to us; he said: my father narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Muhajir, from Ibn Halbas, from Umm al-Darda ⦗544⦘, that Fadalah ibn Ubayd would supplicate, saying:
“O Allah, I ask You for contentment after Your decree, the comfort of life after death, the delight of beholding Your Face, and longing to meet You without harmful adversity or misguiding tribulation.”
He maintained that these were supplications with which the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to supplicate.
