825—Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn al-‘Abbas informed us; he said: ‘Abd Allah ibn Muhammad al-Baghawi narrated to us; he said: Muhammad ibn Ziyad ibn Farwah narrated to us; he said: Abu Shihab narrated to us, from Isma‘il, from Qays ibn Abi Hazim ⦗526⦘, from Jarir ibn ‘Abd Allah, who said:

“We were with the Messenger of Allah when he looked at the moon on the night of the full moon and said: ‘Indeed, you will see your Lord plainly, just as you see this moon, without any difficulty in seeing Him. So, if you are able to ensure that you are not prevented from performing a prayer before the rising of the sun and before its setting, then do so.’ Then he recited: ‘And glorify your Lord with His praise before the rising of the sun and before its setting.’ [Ta-Ha: 130]”

Al-Bukhari recorded it in the Sahih, through Yusuf ibn Musa, from ‘Asim ibn Yusuf al-Yarbu‘i, from Abu Shihab, with this wording.
