818 — Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn al-Qasim and al-Hasan ibn ‘Uthman informed us. They said: Ahmad ibn al-Hasan informed us; Ahmad ibn Ibrahim ibn Milhan narrated to us; Yahya ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us; al-Layth narrated to us, from Khalid ibn Yazid, from Sa‘id ibn Abi Hilal, from Zayd ibn Aslam, from ‘Ata’ ibn Yasar, from Abu Sa‘id, who said:
“We said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, will we see our Lord?’ He said, ‘Do you have any difficulty seeing the sun when the sky is clear?’ We said, ‘No.’ He said, ‘Then do you have any difficulty seeing the moon on the night of the full moon when the sky is clear?’ We said, ‘No.’ He said, ‘Indeed, you will have no difficulty seeing your Lord on that Day, except as you have difficulty seeing those two.’”
Their wordings are similar. Al-Bukhari recorded it from Yahya ibn Bukayr; and al-Bukhari and Muslim recorded it through the hadith of Hafs ibn Maysarah, from Zayd ibn Aslam.
