807 — Abd al-Rahman related it. He said: Al-Hasan ibn Ayyub al-Qazwini narrated to us—⦗518⦘ Ahmad ibn al-Hasan al-Saffar narrated to us; Ali ibn al-Madini narrated to us; Muhammad ibn Sulaym narrated to us, from Yahya ibn Sa‘id, who said: Ibrahim al-Sa’igh said:

“I would not be pleased to have half of Paradise in exchange for the vision.” He then recited:

“No indeed! On that Day they will be veiled from their Lord. Then they will surely enter the Blazing Fire. Then it will be said, ‘This is what you used to deny.’” [Quran 83:15–17]

He said: “By ‘the vision,’ he meant seeing Allah.”
