792—Ubayd Allah ibn Ahmad informed us: Ibrahim ibn Hammad narrated to us by dictation; Abu Musa Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, saying: I heard Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi say: Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us, from Thabit, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla, concerning the verse, “For those who do good is the finest reward—and more besides” [Yunus: 26].

⦗511⦘ He said: “The additional reward is looking upon the Face of their Lord. ‘Nor shall darkness cover their faces, nor disgrace’ [Yunus: 26]—after looking upon their Lord, the Mighty and Majestic.”
