- Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Hafs al-Harawi informed us; Abdullah ⦗68⦘ ibn Adi informed us; Ibrahim ibn Abdullah al-Mukharrimi narrated to us; [he said:] I think it was Ubaydullah ibn Umar al-Qawariri, who said: I heard Hammad ibn Zayd say:
“I was present with Ayyub al-Sakhtiyani as he washed the body of Shuayb ibn al-Habhāb, saying: ‘Those who wish for the death of the people of the sunnah seek to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even though the disbelievers detest it.’” [Surah al-Saff 61:8]
٣٥ - وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَفْصٍ الْهَرَوِيُّ , أنبا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ⦗٦٨⦘ بْنُ عَدِيٍّ , ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُخَرِّمِيُّ , ثنا , أَظُنُّهُ عُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيَّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ حَمَّادَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ يَقُولُ: " حَضَرْتُ أَيُّوبَ السِّخْتِيَانِيَّ وَهُوَ يُغَسِّلُ شُعَيْبَ بْنَ الْحَبْحَابِ , وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: " إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَتَمَنَّوْنَ مَوْتَ أَهْلِ السُّنَّةِ يُرِيدُونَ أَنْ يُطْفِئُوا نُورَ اللَّهِ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ , ﴿وَاللَّهُ مُتِمُّ نُورِهِ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْكَافِرُونَ﴾ [الصف: ٨] "
