774 — Ahmad ibn Muhammad informed us; Umar ibn Ahmad informed us; Ahmad ibn Khalaf narrated to us. Ahmad ibn Ali al-Abbar mentioned that Abdullah ibn Tahir said to Ishaq ibn Rahawayh: “What are these reports that are being narrated—that Allah descends to the lowest heaven, and that Allah ascends and descends?”
Ishaq replied, “Do you say that Allah is able to descend and ascend without moving?” He said, “Yes.” He replied, “Then why do you deny it?”
٧٧٤ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، قَالَ: ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ، قَالَ: ذَكَرَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْأَبَّارُ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ طَاهِرٍ، قَالَ لِإِسْحَاقَ بْنِ رَاهَوَيْهِ مَا هَذِهِ الْأَحَادِيثُ الَّتِي يُحَدَّثُ بِهَا: " أَنَّ اللَّهَ ﷿ يَنْزِلُ إِلَى سَمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا , وَاللَّهُ يَصْعَدُ وَيَنْزِلُ؟ قَالَ: فَقَالَ لَهُ إِسْحَاقُ: تَقُولُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَقْدِرُ عَلَى أَنْ يَنْزِلَ وَيَصْعَدَ وَلَا يَتَحَرَّكُ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ , قَالَ: فَلِمَ تُنْكِرُ؟ "
