768 — Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Ali ibn Hamid al-Tabari informed us: Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hatim informed us; Abu Sa‘id al-Ashajj narrated to us; Uqbah narrated to me; al-A‘mash narrated to us, from Abu Salih, from Umm Salamah, who said:
“What an excellent day is the day on which Allah descends to the lowest heaven.”
It was said, “O Mother of the Believers, which day is that?” She replied, “The Day of Arafah.”
٧٦٨ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حَامِدٍ الطَّبَرِيُّ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي حَاتِمٍ، قَالَ: ثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْأَشَجُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عُقْبَةُ، قَالَ: ثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ: " نِعْمَ الْيَوْمُ يَوْمٌ يَنْزِلُ اللَّهُ فِيهِ إِلَى سَمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا , قِيلَ: يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَأَيُّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ؟ قَالَتْ: يَوْمُ عَرَفَةَ "
