767 — Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Umar informed us: Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hatim informed us; al-Abbas ibn Yazid informed us; Marwan ibn Ishaq informed us; Muhammad ibn Abi Isma'il informed us, from Khaythamah ibn Abd al-Rahman, from Umm Salamah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
“Indeed, Allah descends to the lowest heaven and boasts of the people of Arafah before His angels, saying, ‘Look at My servants: they have come to Me dishevelled and dust-covered. O people of Arafah, I have forgiven you.’”
٧٦٧ - أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنْبَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي حَاتِمٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: " إِنَّ اللَّهَ ﷿ يَنْزِلُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا فَيُبَاهِي بِأَهْلِ عَرَفَةَ مَلَائِكَتَهُ فَيَقُولُ: انْظُرُوا إِلَى عِبَادِي أَتَوْنِي شُعْثًا غَبْرًا , يَا أَهْلَ عَرَفَةَ قَدْ غَفَرْتُ لَكَمْ "
