765 — Ubayd Allah ibn Ahmad informed us; he said: Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Ziyad narrated to us; he said: Muhammad ibn Abd al-Malik narrated to us; he said: Jaʿfar ibn ʿAwn narrated to us; he said: Ibrahim al-Hajari narrated to us, from Abu al-Ahwas, from Abd Allah ibn Masʿud, who said:

“Allah opens the gates of heaven during the remaining third of the night, then descends to the lowest heaven and stretches out His Hand, saying, ‘Is there any servant who asks Me, so that I may grant him? He remains thus until dawn breaks.’”
