760—‘Ali ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Umar informed us; ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hatim informed us; ‘Awf informed me; al-Rabi‘ ibn Rawh reported to us, from Ibn Harb—that is, Muhammad—from al-Ahwas ibn Hakim, from al-Muhasir ibn Habib, from Abu Tha‘labah al-Khushani, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

“On the night of the middle of Sha‘ban, Allah looks upon His creation: He forgives the believers, grants respite to the disbelievers, and leaves those who bear rancour to their rancour—or those who harbour malice.”
