747 — Abd al-Rahman ibn Umar informed us: al-Husayn ibn Isma'il narrated to us: Yusuf ibn Musa narrated to us: Jarir narrated to us, from Mansur, from Abu Ishaq, from Muslim al-A'rabi, from Abu Hurayrah and Abu Sa'id, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said:

“Allah grants respite until a third of the night has passed, then He descends to the lowest heaven and says: ‘Is there anyone who repents? Is there anyone who seeks forgiveness? Is there anyone who asks? Is there anyone who supplicates?’—until dawn breaks.” ⦗485⦘

Muslim transmitted it through the narration of Jarir.
