739 — I heard Abu Muhammad al-Hasan ibn Uthman ibn Jabir say: I heard Abu Nasr Ahmad ibn Ya'qub ibn Zadhan say:

It reached me that a man recited before Ahmad ibn Hanbal:

“They have not appraised Allah with true appraisal. On the Day of Resurrection, the whole earth will be in His grasp, and the heavens folded up in His right hand.”

He then gestured with his hand. Ahmad said to him, “May Allah cut it off! May Allah cut it off! May Allah cut it off!” Then he became angry and rose.
