733 — Ahmad informed us; Umar informed us; Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ⦗478⦘ Isma‘il narrated to us; al-Fadl ibn Ziyad narrated to us, saying: I heard Abu ‘Abd Allah Ahmad ibn Hanbal say:
“Whoever rejects a hadith of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, stands on the brink of ruin.”
٧٣٣ - وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ، نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ ⦗٤٧٨⦘ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، قَالَ: ثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَحْمَدَ بْنَ حَنْبَلٍ يَقُولُ: «مَنْ رَدَّ حَدِيثَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَهُوَ عَلَى شَفَا هَلَكَةٍ»
