721 — Isa ibn Ali informed us; he said: Abd Allah ibn Muhammad al-Baghawi informed us; he said: Hudbah ibn Khalid narrated to us; he said: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Ya‘la.

722 — And Muhammad ibn al-Husayn al-Farisi informed us; he said: Muhammad ibn Ja‘far ibn Mulas narrated to us; he said: Shu‘ayb ibn Amr al-Duba‘i narrated to us; Yazid ibn Harun said: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Ya‘la ibn Ata, from Waki‘ ibn Hudus, from Abu Razin, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

“Our Lord, mighty and majestic, laughs at His servants’ despair and at how near His change of their condition is.”

He said: I asked, “Messenger of Allah, does the Lord laugh?” He replied, “Yes. We shall never be deprived of good from a Lord who laughs.”
