711 — Abd al-Rahman ibn Umar informed us; he said: Muhammad ibn Ja‘far ibn Yazid informed us; he said: Ahmad ibn Abd Allah ibn Yazid narrated to us; he said: Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us; he said: he informed us. [Through another chain:]

712 — Muhammad ibn Abd Allah ibn Jami‘ informed us; he said: Isma‘il ibn Muhammad narrated to us; he said: Ahmad ibn Mansur narrated to us; he said: Abd al-Razzaq informed us; he said: Ma‘mar informed us, from Hammam ibn Munabbih, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

“Allah created Adam in His image, sixty ⦗469⦘ cubits tall. When He created him, He said to him, ‘Go and greet that group’—a group of angels who were seated—‘and listen to how they greet you, for it will be your greeting and the greeting of your descendants.’ He went and said, ‘Peace be upon you.’ They replied, ‘Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah.’ He said: They added, ‘and the mercy of Allah.’

“Everyone who enters Paradise will be in Adam’s image, sixty cubits tall. Creation has continued to diminish in stature from then until now.”
