Abd Allah ibn Muslim ibn Yahya informed us; he said: al-Husayn ibn Isma'il informed us; he said: Yusuf ibn Musa narrated to us; he said: Jarir narrated to us, from Mansur, from Ibrahim, from Abidah, from Abd Allah, who said:
“A rabbi from among the Jewish rabbis came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: ‘When the Day of Resurrection comes, Allah will place the heavens upon one finger, the earths upon one finger, the mountains and trees upon one finger, and the water and soil upon one finger”—and he mentioned something else—“all of them upon one finger. Then He will shake them and say: “I am the King! I am the King!”’
He said: “I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, laugh until his molars became visible, in amazement at what he had said, affirming it. Then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: ‘They have not esteemed Allah as He deserves to be esteemed. On the Day of Resurrection, the whole earth will be in His grasp, and the heavens folded up in His right hand. Glory be to Him! Exalted is He above what they associate with Him.’” ⦗467⦘
Al-Bukhari and Muslim narrated it from Uthman ibn Abi Shaybah, from Jarir.
