Ahmad ibn Ubayd informed us. He said: Ali ibn Abdullah ibn Mubashshir informed us. He said: Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us. He said: Abu Mu‘awiyah narrated to us. He said: al-A‘mash narrated to us, from Tamim ibn Salamah, from Urwah, from Aishah, who said: “All praise is due to Allah, whose hearing encompasses all voices. The woman who disputed came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, speaking with him in a corner of the house, yet I could not hear what she was saying. Then Allah revealed: ‘Allah has certainly heard the words of the woman who pleads with you concerning her husband.’ [al-Mujadilah: 1]” Al-Bukhari cited it as evidence.
