686—Kūhī ibn al-Hasan informed us. He said: Abu Hamid al-Hadrami narrated to us. He said: al-Hasan ibn Arafah narrated to us. He said: Abbad ibn al-Awwam narrated to us, from Asim, from Abu Uthman, from Abu Musa. And Muhammad ibn Abd Allah al-Jufi informed us. He said: Muhammad ibn Jafar ibn Rabah narrated to us. He said: Ali ibn al-Mundhir narrated to us. He said: Ibn Fudayl narrated to us. He said: Asim narrated to us, from Abu Uthman, from Abu Musa, who said: “We were travelling with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and the people began raising their voices in proclaiming the greatness of Allah. He said: ‘O people, be gentle with yourselves. You are not calling upon a god who is deaf or absent; rather, you are calling upon One who is Hearing, Near, and with you.’
He heard me saying, ‘There is no might nor power except through Allah, the Most High, the Magnificent,’ and said: ‘O Abd Allah ibn Qays, shall I not direct you to one of the treasures of Paradise?’ I said, ‘Certainly, O Messenger of Allah.’ He said: ‘There is no might nor power except through Allah.’” Muslim transmitted it from Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah, from Ibn Fudayl.
