676 – Muhammad ibn Ja'far was asked about Allah Most High’s saying:
“The Most Merciful rose over the Throne.” [Taha: 5]
He said: “Whoever claims that Allah rose over the Throne as a created being rises over another created being has disbelieved. Whoever believes that Allah rose over the Throne in a manner befitting the Creator’s relation to a created being is a believer.”
What suffices in this matter is to say: Allah rose over the Throne, without asking how.
