675 – In Hanbal’s narration, no. 11293, it is reported that he was asked about His saying: “He is with you wherever you may be,” and His saying: “No private conversation of three takes place except that He is the fourth of them” [al-Mujadilah: 7]. He replied: “This refers to His knowledge: He knows the unseen and the seen; His knowledge encompasses all things. Our Lord is above the Throne, without limit or description, and His Footstool encompasses the heavens and the earth through His knowledge.”
