661 – Ahmad ibn Muhammad informed us; Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Ziyad ⦗440⦘ informed us; he said: Ibn Shirawayh related to us; he said: Ishaq ibn Rahawayh related to us; he said: Ibrahim ibn al-Hakam ibn Aban informed us, from his father, from Ikrimah, concerning His saying:
“Then I will surely come upon them from before them and from behind them, from their right and from their left.” [al-A‘raf 7:17]
Ibn Abbas said: “He was unable to say, ‘from above them,’ because he knew that Allah is above them.”
٦٦١ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ⦗٤٤٠⦘، قَالَ: ثَنَا ابْنُ شِيرَوَيْهِ، قَالَ: ثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ رَاهَوَيْهِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ أَبَانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، فِي قَوْلِهِ ﴿ثُمَّ لَآتِيَنَّهُمْ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ وَعَنْ أَيْمَانِهِمْ وَعَنْ شَمَائِلِهِمِ﴾ [الأعراف: ١٧] قَالَ: قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: «لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ أَنْ يَقُولَ مِنْ فَوْقِهِمْ؛ عَلِمَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ مِنْ فَوْقِهِمْ»
