- Ahmad ibn Ubayd informed us; Muhammad ibn al-Husayn informed us; Ahmad ibn Zuhayr narrated to us; Yahya ibn Ma'in narrated to us; Abu Usamah informed us from Mahdi, who said: Yunus ibn Ubayd said:
“Indeed, the one to whom the sunnah is presented is a stranger; and stranger still than him is the one who knows it.”
٢٢ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ , أنبا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ , ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ , ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ , أنبا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ , عَنْ مَهْدِيٍّ , قَالَ: قَالَ يُونُسُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ: «إِنَّ الَّذِي تُعْرَضُ عَلَيْهِ السُّنَّةُ لَغَرِيبٌ , وَأَغْرَبُ مِنْهُ مَنْ يَعْرِفُهَا»
