660 – Al-Hasan ibn Uthman informed us; he said: Ali ibn Muhammad ibn al-Zubayr informed us; he said: Ibrahim ibn Abi al-Anbas related to us; he said: Ya‘la ibn ‘Ubayd related to us, from Sufyan, from Abu Hashim, from Mujahid, who said:

Ibn ‘Abbas was told, “Some people affirm divine decree.” He replied, “They deny the Book. If I were to seize one of them by the hair, I would pull it out. Allah was above His Throne before He created anything. Then He created creation and wrote all that would come to pass until the Day of Resurrection. People merely proceed according to a matter that has already been decreed.”
