645—Muhammad ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Hajjaj informed us: Ja‘far ibn Muhammad ibn Nusayr informed us; al-Hasan ibn ‘Ali al-Qattan related to us; al-Hasan ibn Salih al-Bazzar ⦗428⦘ related to us; Muhammad ibn Abi Kabshah said:
“I heard an unseen caller crying out at sea, saying: ‘There is no god but Allah. Al-Marisi has lied against Allah.’ Then he cried out a second time: ‘There is no god but Allah. May Allah’s curse be upon Thumamah and al-Marisi.’ A man who was among al-Marisi’s followers was aboard the ship with us, and he fell down dead.”
٦٤٥ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَجَّاجِ، أَخْبَرَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ نُصَيْرٍ، ثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْقَطَّانُ، ثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ الْبَزَّارُ ⦗٤٢٨⦘، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي كَبْشَةَ، قَالَ: " سَمِعْتُ هَاتِفًا، يَهْتِفُ فِي الْبَحْرِ , فَقَالَ: لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ , كَذَبَ الْمَرِيسِيُّ عَلَى اللَّهِ , قَالَ: ثُمَّ هَتَفَ ثَانِيَةً: لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ , عَلَى ثُمَامَةَ، وَالْمَرِيسِيِّ لَعْنَةُ اللَّهِ , وَكَانَ فِي الْمَرْكِبِ مَعَنَا رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الْمَرِيسِيِّ فَخَرَّ مَيِّتًا "
