20. Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Faqih informed us: Umar ibn Ahmad informed us; my father narrated to us; Ahmad ibn al-Khalil narrated to us; Abu al-Nadr narrated to us; a shaykh from Madhhij narrated to us; Wiqa’ ibn ⦗64⦘ Iyas informed me, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, who said:

“No statement is accepted without action; no action is accepted without a statement; no statement and action are accepted without an intention; and no statement, action, and intention are accepted except with an intention that conforms to the sunnah.”
