625 — Muhammad ibn al-Husayn ibn Ya‘qub informed us: Da‘lij ibn Ahmad informed us: Ahmad ibn ‘Ali al-Abbār narrated to us: al-Hasan ibn al-Sabbāh narrated to us: I heard Khalid ibn Khidāsh say:
“I saw in a dream as though someone came to me with a cotton sheet and said, ‘Read.’ So I said, ‘In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful: Ibn Abī Du’ād intends to put the people to the test. Whoever says, “The Quran is the speech of Allah,” will be clothed with a gold ring whose stone is a red ruby; Allah will admit him into Paradise and forgive him—or he said: he will be forgiven. But whoever says, “The Quran is created,” his right hand will be made like the right hand of a monkey. He will then live for a day or two, after which he will enter the Fire.’”
