- Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Sahl informed us: Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn al-Hasan informed us; Bishr ibn Musa narrated to us; Ubayd ibn Ya‘ish narrated to us; Yunus ibn Bukayr narrated to us; Muhammad ibn Ishaq narrated to us, from al-Hasan—or al-Husayn—ibn Ubayd Allah, from Ikrimah, from Ibn Abbas, who said:
“By Allah, I do not think that there is anyone upon the face of the earth today whose destruction would be more beloved to Satan than mine.”
He was asked, “How so?” He replied, “By Allah, he introduces a religious innovation in the East or the West, and a man conveys it to me. Once it reaches me, I suppress it with the sunnah, and it is sent back to him just as…”

١٢ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ سَهْلٍ , أنبا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ , ثنا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى , ثنا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ يَعِيشَ , ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ , ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ , عَنِ الْحَسَنِ أَوِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ , عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ , عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ , قَالَ: «وَاللَّهِ مَا أَظُنُّ عَلَى ظَهْرِ الْأَرْضِ الْيَوْمَ أَحَدًا أَحَبَّ إِلَى الشَّيْطَانِ هَلَاكًا مِنِّي» . فَقِيلَ: «وَكَيْفَ؟» فَقَالَ: «وَاللَّهِ إِنَّهُ لَيُحْدِثُ الْبِدْعَةَ فِي مَشْرِقٍ أَوْ مَغْرِبٍ , فَيَحْمِلُهَا الرَّجُلُ إِلَيَّ , فَإِذَا انْتَهَتْ إِلَيَّ قَمَعْتُهَا بِالسُّنَّةِ , فَتُرَدُّ عَلَيْهِ كَمَا» أَخْرَجَهُ ابْنُ يَزِيْدَ
