515 — Abdullah ibn Muslim ibn Yahya informed us; al-Husayn ibn Isma‘il said: Sallam ibn Salim narrated to us; Musa ibn Ibrahim al-Warraq said: Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, saying: “For forty-nine years, I have heard people say: Whoever says that the Quran is created, his wife is irrevocably divorced from him by three pronouncements.” He said: I asked, “Why is that?” He replied, “Because his wife is Muslim, and a Muslim woman cannot remain married to a disbeliever.”
