507 — Muhammad ibn ʿUmar ibn Muhammad ibn Humayd informed us: Muhammad ibn Makhlad narrated to us; Ishaq ibn Ibrahim al-Baghawi narrated to us: Ibn Hazm al-Najjar informed me: I heard ʿAbd Allah ibn Dawud al-Khuraybi say: “Whoever says that the Quran is created, it is incumbent upon the ruler to call him to repent. If he repents, [he is to be spared]; otherwise, he is to be beheaded.”
