And among the people of Mecca, we have mentioned the report from Amr ibn Dinar, who said: “For seventy years, I heard our shaykhs saying: ‘The Quran is the speech of Allah, not created.’” ⦗303⦘
Earlier, we also mentioned Amr ibn Dinar among those who had met members of the Companions and the Successors.
وَمِنْ أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ فَقَدْ ذَكَرْنَا عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ وَقَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مَشَايِخَنَا مُنْذُ سَبْعِينَ سَنَةً يَقُولُونَ: الْقُرْآنُ كَلَامُ اللَّهِ غَيْرُ ⦗٣٠٣⦘ مَخْلُوقٍ. وَقَدْ ذَكَرْنَا مِنَ الَّذِينَ لَحِقَ مِنَ الصَّحَابَةِ وَالتَّابِعِينَ عَمْرَو بْنَ دِينَارٍ فِيمَا تَقَدَّمَ.
