472 — Ali ibn Umar informed us: Mukram informed us and said: Ahmad ibn Atiyyah narrated to us: I heard Muhammad ibn Muqatil say: I heard Ibn al-Mubarak say: Jahm was mentioned in the gathering of Abu Hanifah, and he asked, “What does he say?” They replied, “He says that the Quran is created.” He said: “Grave indeed is the word that comes out of their mouths! They speak nothing but lies.” [al-Kahf: 5]
