457 — Muhammad ibn Ubayd Allah informed us: Ahmad ibn al-Hasan informed us: Abdullah ibn Ahmad narrated to us: I heard Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah when one of our companions said, “The Quran is the speech of Allah and is not created.” Abu Bakr said, “Whoever does not affirm this is astray, leads others astray, and is an innovator.”
458 — Abdullah said: I also heard Uthman ibn Abi Shaybah say, “The Quran is the speech of Allah and is not created.” He said:
459 — I heard Uthman say on another occasion, “Whoever does not say, ‘The Quran is the speech of ⦗294⦘ Allah and is not created,’ is worse than these Jahmiyyah.”
٤٥٧ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا بَكْرِ بْنَ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , وَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا: الْقُرْآنُ كَلَامُ اللَّهِ وَلَيْسَ بِمَخْلُوقٍ. فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: مَنْ لَمْ يَقُلْ هَذَا فَهُوَ ضَالٌّ مُضِلٌّ مُبْتَدِعٌ.
٤٥٨ - قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ: وَسَمِعْتُ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ يَقُولُ: الْقُرْآنُ كَلَامُ اللَّهِ وَلَيْسَ بِمَخْلُوقٍ. قَالَ:
٤٥٩ - وَسَمِعْتُ عُثْمَانَ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى يَقُولُ: مَنْ لَمْ يَقُلِ الْقُرْآنُ كَلَامُ ⦗٢٩٤⦘ اللَّهِ وَلَيْسَ بِمَخْلُوقٍ فَهُوَ شَرٌّ مِنْ هَؤُلَاءِ الْجَهْمِيَّةِ
