Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Umar al-Khatib narrated to us: Abu Bakr Ahmad ibn Ya'qub al-Qaranjuli narrated to us: Ahmad ibn Asram ibn Khuzaymah ⦗292⦘ al-Mughafali narrated to us, saying: I heard Husayn ibn Hayyan say: I heard Abu Ubayd al-Qasim ibn Sallam say: “Whoever says that the Quran is created is worse than one who says, ‘Allah is the third of three’ [al-Ma'idah: 73]—glorified and exalted is Allah—for those people affirm something, whereas these people do not affirm the meaning.”
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْخَطِيبُ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْقَرَنْجُلِيُّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَصْرَمَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ ⦗٢٩٢⦘ الْمُغَفَّلِيُّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ حُسَيْنَ بْنَ حَيَّانَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عُبَيْدٍ الْقَاسِمَ بْنَ سَلَّامٍ يَقُولُ: مَنْ قَالَ الْقُرْآنُ مَخْلُوقٌ فَهُوَ شَرٌّ مِمَّنْ قَالَ: ﴿إِنَّ اللَّهَ ثَالِثُ ثَلَاثَةٍ﴾ [المائدة: ٧٣] جَلَّ اللَّهُ وَتَعَالَى؛ لِأَنَّ أُولَئِكَ يُثْبِتُونَ شَيْئًا , وَهَؤُلَاءِ لَا يُثْبِتُونَ الْمَعْنَى
