‘Ali, the young companion of Hushaym, said to him, ‘We would like to hear from you something that we may convey to the people concerning the matter of the Quran.’
He replied, ‘The Quran is the speech of Allah, and nothing belonging to Allah is created. Whoever says that anything belonging to Allah is created has disbelieved. I seek Allah’s forgiveness for what I said in the gathering.’
