383 — ʿAbd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hatim also narrated it from Muhammad ibn ʿAmmar ibn al-Harith, who said: Abu Marwan al-Tabari narrated to us in Mecca—and he was a man of merit—saying: Sufyan ibn ʿUyaynah narrated to us ⦗261⦘ from ʿAmr ibn Dinar, who said: “For seventy years, I have heard our elders say: ‘The Quran is the uncreated Speech of Allah.’” Muhammad ibn ʿAmmar said: “And who could his elders have been but the Companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: Ibn ʿAbbas, Jabir, and a number of others whom he mentioned?”
384 — Muhammad ibn Muqatil al-Marwazi also narrated it, saying: “I heard Abu Wahb—who was among the residents of Mecca and was a truthful man—narrate from Ibn ʿUyaynah with this wording.”
385 — Yazid ibn Mawhab likewise narrated it from Sufyan, as did Muhammad ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn Maysarah from Sufyan, with this wording. I say: ʿAmr ibn Dinar met the Companions mentioned previously, as well as the leading Successors among the scholars of Mecca whom he kept company with, met, and learned from: ʿUbayd ibn ʿUmayr, ʿAtaʾ, Tawus, Mujahid, Saʿid ibn Jubayr, ⦗262⦘ ʿIkrimah, and Jabir ibn Zayd. These were the students of Ibn ʿAbbas.
