Mention of the consensus of the Successors from the two sacred precincts—Mecca and Medina—and the two cities—Kufa and Basra. Among the people of Mecca and Medina from whom this was transmitted was Abu Muhammad ‘Amr ibn Dinar:
ذِكْرُ إِجْمَاعِ التَّابِعِينَ مِنَ الْحَرَمَيْنِ مَكَّةَ وَالْمَدِينَةِ , وَالْمِصْرَيْنِ الْكُوفَةِ وَالْبَصْرَةِ فَأَمَّا أَهْلُ مَكَّةَ وَالْمَدِينَةِ مِمَّنْ نُقِلَ عَنْهُمْ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ:
