379 — Ali ibn Ahmad ibn Hafs al-Muqri’ informed us: Muhammad ibn Abd Allah ibn Ibrahim narrated to us: Mu‘adh ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us: Musaddad narrated to us: Yahya—namely, Ibn Sa‘id al-Qattan—narrated to us, from Sufyan, from al-A‘mash, from Abd Allah ibn Murrah, from Abu Kanaf, who said: Abd Allah said, “Whoever swears by the Quran is bound by an oath for every verse.”
He said: I mentioned this to Ibrahim, and he said: Abd Allah said, “Whoever swears by the Quran is bound by an oath for every verse; and whoever disbelieves in a single letter of it has disbelieved in all of it.” ⦗259⦘
I say: Expiation is not due when one swears by a created being.
٣٧٩ - وَأَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَفْصٍ الْمُقْرِئُ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى وَهُوَ ابْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ , عَنْ سُفْيَانَ , عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ , عَنْ أَبِي كَنَفٍ قَالَ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ: مَنْ حَلَفَ بِالْقُرْآنِ فَعَلَيْهِ بِكُلِّ آيَةٍ يَمِينٌ. قَالَ: فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِإِبْرَاهِيمَ فَقَالَ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ: مَنْ حَلَفَ بِالْقُرْآنِ فَعَلَيْهِ بِكُلِّ آيَةٍ يَمِينٌ , وَمَنْ كَفَرَ بِحَرْفٍ مِنْهُ فَقَدْ كَفَرَ بِهِ أَجْمَعَ ⦗٢٥٩⦘. قُلْتُ: وَالْكَفَّارَةُ لَا تَجِبُ إِذَا حَلَفَ بِمَخْلُوقٍ
