It is reported from Amr ibn Dinar: “I met nine of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who would say: ‘Whoever says that the Quran is created is a disbeliever.’” ⦗254⦘ Amr ibn Dinar had indeed met Ibn Abbas, Ibn Umar, Ibn al-Zubayr, Jabir ibn Abdullah, al-Miswar ibn Makhramah, Sa'd ibn A'idh al-Qurazi—the muezzin of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace—al-Sa'ib ibn Yazid al-Kindi, and Abu al-Tufayl Amir ibn Wathilah; and he also narrated from Anas. These, then, are nine.
