Deriving another proof from the Quran is His saying:
“And if all the trees on earth were pens, and the sea—supplemented by seven more seas—were ink, the Words of Allah would not be exhausted.” [Luqman 31:27]
All created things are exhausted and perish, whereas the Words of Allah do not perish. Confirming this is His saying, when His creation has perished:
“To whom belongs all sovereignty this Day?” [Ghafir 40:16]
Then He answers Himself:
“To Allah, the One, the Irresistible Subduer.” [Ibrahim 14:48]
