358—Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn al-‘Abbas informed us; he said: ‘Abd Allah ibn Muhammad al-Baghawi informed us; he said: Sa‘id ibn Nusayr, Abu ‘Uthman al-Wasiti al-Sha‘iri, related to us in the gathering of Khalaf ibn Hisham al-Bazzar; he said: I heard Ibn ‘Uyaynah say, “What is this little creature saying?”—meaning Bishr al-Marisi. They said, “Abu Muhammad, he claims that the Quran is created.” He said, “Then he has lied. Allah says: ‘Unquestionably, His is the creation and the command.’ [al-A‘raf 7:54] Creation is Allah’s creation, and the command is the Quran.”
Ahmad ibn Hanbal, Nu‘aym ibn Hammad, Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Dhuhli, ‘Abd al-Salam ibn ‘Asim al-Razi, Ahmad ibn Sinan al-Wasiti, and Abu Hatim al-Razi said likewise.
٣٥٨ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْبَغَوِيُّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ نُصَيْرٍ أَبُو عُثْمَانَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ الشَّعِيرِيُّ فِي مَجْلِسِ خَلَفِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ الْبَزَّارِ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُيَيْنَةَ يَقُولُ: " مَا يَقُولُ هَذَا الدُّوَيْبَةُ؟ يَعْنِي بِشْرًا الْمَرِيسِيَّ , قَالُوا: يَا أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ: يَزْعُمُ أَنَّ الْقُرْآنَ مَخْلُوقٌ. قَالَ: فَقَدْ كَذَبَ , قَالَ اللَّهُ ﷿: ﴿أَلَا لَهُ الْخَلْقُ وَالْأَمْرُ﴾ [الأعراف: ٥٤] فَالْخَلْقُ خَلْقُ اللَّهِ , وَالْأَمْرُ الْقُرْآنُ " وَكَذَلِكَ قَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ , وَنُعَيْمُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ , وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الذُّهْلِيُّ , وَعَبْدُ السَّلَامِ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ الرَّازِيُّ , وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ , وَأَبُو حَاتِمٍ الرَّازِيُّ
