339—Ahmad ibn ʿUmar ibn Muhammad al-Asbahani informed us: ʿAbd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Ziyad informed us: Yunus ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿla narrated to us: Ibn Wahb narrated to us: ʿAmr ibn al-Harith informed me, from Yazid ibn Abi Habib and his father, al-Harith ibn Yaʿqub, who both narrated from Yaʿqub ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn al-Ashajj, from al-Qaʿqaʿ ibn Hakim, from Dhakwan, from Abu Hurayrah, who said:
A man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, “O Messenger of Allah, how much I suffered from a scorpion that stung me last night!” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him, “Had you said, when evening came, ‘I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created,’ it would not have harmed you.”
Muslim transmitted it.
