328—Ubayd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Ahmad, al-Husayn ibn Umar, and Ali ibn Umar ibn Ibrahim informed us. They said: Uthman ibn Ahmad informed us; he said: Ahmad ibn al-Khalil narrated to us; he said: Abu al-Nadr Hashim ibn al-Qasim narrated to us; he said: Sulayman ibn al-Mughirah narrated to us, from Thabit, from Anas, who said:

We were forbidden from asking the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, about anything. We therefore welcomed the coming of an intelligent man from the desert Arabs, who would ask him while we listened. Then a man from the desert Arabs came and said ⦗222⦘: “O Muhammad, your messenger came to us and claimed that you maintain Allah has sent you.” He said, “He spoke the truth.”
