2820 – Al-Husayn ibn Ahmad at-Tabari informed us. He said: Abu al-Fudayl ʿUbayd Allah ibn ʿAbd al-Rahman az-Zuhri narrated to us. He said: Abu Sulayman Muhammad ibn Sulayman al-Harrani narrated to us. He said: Yahya ibn Haywah an-Naysaburi narrated to us. He said: Muhammad ibn ʿAbd al-Hakam narrated to us. He said: I heard al-Shafiʿi say: “I do not think that people have been afflicted with reviling the companions of Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, except that Allah, through it, increases the companions’ reward after their own deeds have come to an end.”
