2793 – Ahmad ibn ‘Ubayd reported to us; Muhammad ibn al-Husayn informed us; Ahmad ibn Zuhayr narrated to us; Musa ibn Isma‘il narrated to us; Ibrahim ibn Sa‘d narrated to us; my father related to me, from Sa‘id ibn al-Musayyib, from his father, who said:

“On the day of Yarmuk every voice fell silent except that of a single man crying out, ‘O help of Allah, draw near!’ while the Muslims were fiercely engaged in battle… I went to see who it was, and there stood Abu Sufyan… together with his son Yazid.”
