2783 – ʿAbd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Ahmad narrated to us; ʿAbd Allah ibn Ismaʿil al-Hashimi narrated to us; he said: Muhammad ibn Yusuf al-Tabbaʿ narrated to us; he said: Musʿab al-Zubayri narrated to us; he said: ad-Darawardi narrated to us; he said:

“I saw Jaʿfar ibn Muhammad come and greet the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He then turned and greeted Abu Bakr and ʿUmar. When he noticed that I seemed astonished—or, he said, that it pleased me—he declared: ‘By Allah, this is the religion with which I worship Allah. By Allah, it would not please me to say of Muʿawiyah, “May Allah disgrace him” or “May Allah do such-and-such to him,” even if the whole world were mine.’”
