2756 – Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr narrated to us; he said: Muhammad ibn Makhlad narrated to us; he said: Ahmad ibn Mansur narrated to us; Harun ibn Maʿruf related to me; he said: Ibn Wahb narrated to us; he said—and Ḥaywah said—“Abu Sakhr informed me, from Ibn Qusayṭ, from ʿUrwah ibn al-Zubayr, from ʿAʾishah, who said:
‘When I noticed that the Prophet ﷺ was in a cheerful mood, I said, “O Messenger of Allah, pray to Allah for me.” He replied, “O Allah, forgive ʿAʾishah her earlier and later sins, what she has hidden and what she has made public.” ʿAʾishah laughed so much that her head dropped into her lap from laughter. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then asked her, “Does my supplication please you?” She answered, “Why would your supplication not please me?” He said, “By Allah, it is the very prayer I make for my ummah in every salah.”’
