2755 – ʿUbayd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn ʿUthman ibn Ahmad narrated to us; he said: al-Hasan ibn Sallam al-Sawwaf narrated to us; he said: Muʿawiyah ibn ʿAmr narrated to us; he said: Zāʾidah narrated to us, from Ismaʿil, from Qays:

ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ asked the Prophet ﷺ, “Which of all people is dearest to you?” He replied ⦗1514⦘, “ʿAʾishah.” ʿAmr said, “I am not asking about women; rather, from among the men.” He answered, “Her father.”
